Online BHRT at Thrivelab is the same clinical decision as an office visit, done by video, with labs near your house and medication shipped if it is prescribed. Your state license rules still apply. The website does not approve you.
The sequence
Assessment, 45-minute intake, labs at Quest or Labcorp or a site you can reach, then a decision. If hormones are appropriate they ship. If you need a pelvic exam, a mammogram, or a biopsy, you do that locally and the plan waits.
Existing patients use the portal for refills and questions. New patients should not expect a prescription the hour they finish the quiz.
Bring the old chart
Prior hormone doses, surgeries, and the last mammogram date change the visit. A photo of the bottle is enough if you cannot remember the milligrams. 'I was on a cream' is not.
If another clinic has you on pellets or a high-dose cream, do not add Thrivelab hormones on top. The intake should be a handoff or a refusal, not a stack.
When telehealth is the wrong tool
Heavy bleeding, a breast lump, chest pain, or a sudden severe headache are not video-visit problems. Use local urgent care. Hormone follow-up can happen after you are safe.
If you want someone to examine you in a room every quarter, say so. This model will frustrate you, and that is fine. It is built for women who will do the exams locally and the medication management remotely.
Why your state, not the website, approves you
The convenience of online BHRT can obscure a hard rule: prescribing follows where you actually live, because your clinician has to be licensed in your state. The website does not approve anyone; a licensed clinician does, after labs and a real intake. That is why a full-time RV life or a mailing-address workaround needs a straight answer about your state of residence rather than a convenient guess.
It also means a move is not a footnote. If you relocate, the coordinator needs to know before your next fill, because continuation depends on licensure in the new state. None of this is bureaucracy for its own sake, it is the same rule that keeps any prescription honest, applied to a visit that happens to be on a screen.

- Can I be seen if I travel full time?

- How private is the video visit?
- As private as the room you are in. Take it somewhere you can talk about sex, bleeding, and mood.
- What if I move?

- Can I use online BHRT if I move to another state?
- Only if a clinician is licensed where you now live, so tell the coordinator before your next fill. Continuation is not automatic across state lines, because prescribing follows your residence, not your login.
- Does mailing the hormones change what I'm getting?
- No. The product your clinician chose and the dispensing pharmacy are what matter; mail is just logistics. What determines your care is the clinical decision and the dose, not the shipping.
